I couldn’t help but share the Robert Frost poem for the Holidays with all of my Kerry friends!
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
By Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
With my warmest wishes for all of my friends here!

A Merry Christmas to the wonderful bloggers at jk.com, as well as the senator and his wife and family. Also to all the bloggers out there who are in support for the causes John Kerry holds dear. May our New Year bring the changes the electorate asked for when they went to the polls in November of 2006.
My grown up Christmas wish for all of the John Kerry community- May there be peace,May you find joy in the things you do everyday and may love surround you in the coming new year.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all and my thanks to Senator Kerry for his years of service in the Senate working for the American people…..
I was looking for an appropriate and profound quote to borrow for my Christmas Day message to friends and family, and I think this one nails it.
“Maybe Christmas,” he thought, “doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas… perhaps… means a little bit more.”
- Dr. Seuss
Here’s hoping that the hearts of those who have not yet seen the light grow at least one size in the coming year. Thanks to all of you who work so diligently to help make that happen.
Happy Holidays.
I was not going to comment on the war in Iraq today but I read a comment on this blog that was critical of Senator Kerry. Prior to the invasion of Iraq, critical intell was withheld, other intel was spun, the net result of which was to deceive both the American people and Congress. Therefore, the Resolution authorizing the invasion of Iraq was fraudulenty obtained. Congress should revoke this authorization and should freeze funding to the money that is already in the pipeline to allow for an orderly and safe withdrawal of our troops from Iraq. Saudi Arabia is backing the Sunni’s and Iran is backing the Shia and our troops are cought in between. The idea that through a “surge” of troops we can somehow stablize Bagdad is a pipe dream. It is being proposed that these additional troops stay in the areas at night. Doing that would make them easy prey for Iraqi snipers and for triangulated ambushes. How many more American lives are to be sacrificed? Another 3000, another 5000? It is time for us to negotiate with all the interested parties in the areas to obtain a cease fire and bring our troops home. WE need to live up to the promises we made to our volunteer military and not extend them for 3 and 4 tours of duty and we need to take better care of those who have been maimed in “Bush’s Folly.”
Happy Holidays right back to the blog team! Thanks so much for all your hard work re-starting the Kerry Blog. It has been missed
Happy holidays to you all. I am glad that you are “out there,” working for the things we all care about. It’s good to be part of a community.
Thank you, JKBlog Team, for your dedicated service to the values, ideals, hopes and aspirations of our leader, Senator John F. Kerry. You are very much appreciated!
Happy Holidays, and Peace be with all Kerrycrats everywhere. We are blessed on our journey to be following this special, honorable path.
I look forward to once again “rolling up my sleeves and getting back to work for our country” in 2007. Thank you, Senator Kerry, for your guidance and direction with these inspiring words: “When right, keep it right. When wrong, make it right.” Side by side we will get the job done.
Thanks to all the JK Blog Team for your resolute idealism, tireless work and excellent taste in leadership.
May 2007 bring peace and light to America and the Earth we all share.
Good wishes to Sen. Kerry and his family. As we celebrate the holidays with our family and friends we should say a prayer for the soldiers who will not be coming home. We should say a prayer for their families as well, as they get through this very difficult period of grief and sadness. Congress was no doubt mislead as the case for going to war with Iraq was made. No WMDs were found despite claims by this administration that Hussein had WMDs. Hussein wasn’t connected to bin Laden or the 9-11 attacks though a connection was implied.
But now that we are there we should not consider cutting funding for this war as this will only hurt our troops who are stuck in a violent civil war. Instead we should increase funding for this war so that the troops have the body armor they desperately need and must have. We must increase funding so that they have the armored humvees they need to fight this war we sent them to fight.
Cutting funding will hurt them in more ways than we can imagine and no democrat in our Congressional leadership should be in favor of cutting funding of this war in a way that it will directly impact the troops who are serving their country. We owe it to them and their families. Having sent them to Iraq and Afghanistan to fight we can’t cut the funding for these wars.
I hope Sen. Kerry does not support any plans to cut funding for either wars. I have not seen any indication that he does support cutting funding. It will only hurt our troops. Also in the coming days I hope the democrats in Congress will be more vocal about the Afghanistan war than they have been. Democrats should be more vocal in support of this critical war which is the real war on terror, we must tell the administration to send more troops to Afghanistan to help NATO fight the Taliban as soon as possible.
I just posted this on the DNC Blogg and thought I would post it here as well…......
I was trying to rest, watching a little T.V….story came on local T.V. about Stephen Morris, a really good looking young man, handsome, warm smile, pictured with his family. Stephen was a Marine on his second tour of duty in Iraq and was killed on Christmas Eve…next shot was of his father…old…tired…sad…“I just wish I could see my son walking up the walk to come into our house,” The next thing on T.V. was a shot of Mr. Bush getting off Air Force 1 here in Texas. Very expensive dark top coat holding “Barney”. His dog gets better treatment than our troops. Mr. Bush is coming down to his “ranch” to meet with his “advisors” to “think” about the Iraq situation. It’s a little late for Stephen Morris and 3200 plus other Americans.
This is what Bush’s war has done.
http://tinyurl.com/yasdgx
“I had nine tattoos,” he says. “After the explosion, I had six and a half.”
What Bush has done to our troops with his immoral war is heartbreaking and it’s inexcusable. There is no military solution in Iraq. The troops in Iraq can not resolve the political conflict, it’s not their job. What does George Bush expect these men and women to do to bring about an end to another country’s civil war?
What happened to Bryan Anderson didn’t have to happen, and George Bush is to blame. And to add insult to tragic injury, he’s thinking about adding more troops? The man is totally delusional.
Diplomacy is the only hope for a solution in Iraq. Sadly, the only people who can’t see that is this incredibly inept, unbelieveably stubborn administration and those who blindly follow.
I agree, we need to support these men an women as best we can until we’re able to bring them home.
I pray that will be very, very soon.
Enjoy your holiday in Crawford, Mr Bush. I hope your copy of Esquire is delivered while you’re there.
Happy Holidays
Mr.Bush has indicated from his ranch in Crawford that he wants an “‘economic package” for Iraq for short term jobs, etc. Mr. Bush has had 4 years to do this. He had no real plan for the occupation. It’s alittle late to be proposing this “economic’ package, not to mention that under his oversight hundreds of millions of dollars have been lost, stolen, with no accountability. He is grabbing at straws, refusing to accept responsibility for any of the mistakes his administration has made. He no longer has any crdibility at all as far as managing this occupation of Iraq. Our troops need to be brought home in the safest manner possible and the expense of “Bush’s Folly” needs to end NOW!!!...As far as the argument that cutting off fundung will some how or other place the troops at more risk, if the troops don’t have body armor, if the humvees don’t have armor. if the machine gunners on the humvees don’t have “Coopper Slings” by now, they aren’t going to get them. Bush and Rumsfelt have had 4 years to supply them. The failure to properly equipt our troops just goes to shoe how callous this administration is. And Gates is no improvement. Continuing the funding will only result in our troops staying longer and more of our children being killed and maimed.
