Hotline—Kerry: The Friendliest PAC?
Hotline (subscription only) picked up on a report about some numbers that appear on the end of cycle FEC reports for political action committee giving.

John Kerry’s camp says Kerry, though his leadership PAC, “gave the most money to 2006 candidates and committees than any other PAC in the country. ... more than double the amount of money than the number 2 PAC and far more than any of his potential 08 rivals—Republican or Democrat. ... These numbers do not include what Kerry gave out of his own campaign account to candidates and what he raised for them online. Overall, John Kerry raised or gave away 14 million dollars to nearly 300 candidates this cycle and did more stumping than any national Democrat” (release, 1/11).
Their “comprehensive analysis” of all relevant leadership PACs showed the top 6 PACs, by transfers to other candidates (through 11/27/06), were:

Scroll down on the home page and take another look at the Democratic majority in Congress that you and JK helped put there in November!!

Wooooooo hooooooooo!!!!
Great job JK and friends! Proof that the 06 election wins took a lot of hard work from JK, Dean, and the Netroots to bring back democracy to our country.
Now, if only the media would stop lying. And if the Democratic Congress shows there is a difference between Democrats and Republicans.
Keep fighting Jk. Whether the media or the insiders in the DLC or DSCC or DCCC or RNC recognize your hard work, the outsiders still need you to fight as hard as you can and to not back down.
Shouldn’t the headline read, “Savage calls 70% of American ‘Vermin’”?
This includes 56% of the Conservatives who disagree with the President’s escalation policy and his overal incompetence.
(If any liberal said anything even close to that, then the media would be cutting them to pieces!)

Great news. Congratulations.
I finished listening to or reading the transcripts of the interviews that were made yesterday. Great interviews. It was good to hear somebody who said clearly what he thought.
A very small regret though. Do not be so afraid of being labeled weak in defense and weaken their answers by adding caveats.
In the CNN interview, Senator Kerry makes very clear that attacking Iran is a bad idea and this is great. However, he finds necessary to defend himself by stating the obvious: that we should defend ourselves if attacked. At this point, such a carefulness in interviews is not useful. We are AGAINST an attack on Iraq and this is what has to be made clear.
Same thing with the surge. It is clear that Senator Kerry is more than against a surge. Somehow, though, his phrasing could make think he could support more troops in some hypothesis (and may be he does). However, while the fact that he can think about different options and situations is one reason why we like him, for most people, it weakens his argument. The point should be that he does not support the escalation(no if).
Woo hoo! Not only the friendliest PAC, but the one with the coolest name: Keeping America’s Promise.
For a second, I thought the fourth one was: Every Republican is Clueless.
My bad!
I’d also like to rename McCain’s PAC. It should be:
Straight Talk, Ahm…
ProSense:
. . . Not only the friendliest PAC, but the one with the coolest name: Keeping America’s Promise.
Prosense: I agree. The most generous PAC, with DEFINITELY the coolest name. Absolutely the best.
I was hearing “Every Republican is sacred, every Republican is great! If a Republican is wa-asted, God gets quite irate…”
Gotta love Monty Python
Ha ha, when I first saw that headline elsewhere, I thought it was referring to all the nice people who work at KAP! (And they are super nice!) But the PAC is also friendly in important way. Thanks to Senator Kerry and to KAP for such making a huge contribution to our democracy.
Gotta love Monty Python

Speaking of Monty Python, Nobby, here’s Terry Jones of Monty Python fame on Iraq spending:

I apologize for anyone offended by my excessive posts and will immediately cease and desist. Good luck all in this battle.
To: Peter Baldwin
I can’t imagine who you possibly could have offended with your intelligent, informative posts. I know that I, for one have enjoyed reading them. Please do not “cease and desist”. I absolutely agree with you on the SFRC hearing. Senator Kerry clearly put Condi on record as having no idea what they will do if the plan that General Abizaid said wouldn’t work, doesn’t.
Peter Baldwin:
Please continue posting your intelligent posts about the situation in Iraq and Iran. It is important that these questions are posed and I would really like to hear Democrats speak clear and loud and with one voice on this issue.
Now is not the time to be afraid to be seen as weak in defense. Principles have to be laid on the table and actions have to be taken, starting by a RENEWED resolution to get out of Iraq, and clear signal that the Congress will not tolerate an escalation in Iran.
Leaders should lead, even if others are not ready to follow.
Peter Baldwin
I love reading your insightful posts. Please don’t stop!
OT, I see that the Kerry amendment regarding pensions just passed. This is the Cunningham amendment, isn’t it?
Nice work from the Senator.
Peter Baldwin:
I urge you to continue your posts. If you stop now, it only gives way to censoring your words in fear of offending someone. This is America, and we should be practicing our beliefs. Not in fear in offending anyone, but practicing them in hopes that there will be collaboration, from all sides of politics and people. It is only then that our nation achieves the purpose of Democracy.
So, please, I urge you to continue your posts.
