In Memoriam
Day is done, gone the sun, From the hills, from the lake, From the sky. All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.
Fades the light; And afar Goeth day, And the stars Shineth bright, Fare thee well; Day has gone, Night is on.
Thanks and praise, For our days, ‘Neath the sun, Neath the stars, ‘Neath the sky, As we go, This we know, God is nigh.
Hattip to the IGTNT diary for today. IGTNT (I Got The News Today) is a diary series written at dailykos in acknowledgement of each reported death in war.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Thank you for the beautiful, classy meaningful Memorial Day message. I had never heard or read the second verses given here - only the first - from days long ago as a Girl Scout.
Beautiful.
I was going through a scrapbook that I kept when my husband joined the Navy back in Jan. ‘70 and found this poem I had written down from somewhere.
Thank you fedup that was beautiful.
