What station is broadcasting the radio address today?  I looked at ABC Radio homepage and don’t see it scheduled.

According to Trey Bohn, the White House Director of Radio:

“All radio stations that subscribe to news services such as ABC, CBS, CNN, AP, UPI or USA can access the President’s Weekly Radio Address to the nation. It is fed live at 10:06 ET each Saturday morning for local affiliates to broadcast.

“Many of your local ‘all news’ format AM stations will typically air the President’s Weekly Radio Address, but are under no obligation to do so. Some stations may even air it at different times depending on their programming. Therefore, there isn’t a list with consistently accurate information available. I would encourage you to contact your local stations’ programming departments to find out more.”

Official transcripts and podcasts of each week’s White House radio address are posted at http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/radio/ .

Obviously, the White House likes to make it easy to hear the weekly presidential radio address. Finding the Democratic response to the weekly address can be a bit more complicated, since it’s delivered by a different person each week. The individual responder’s own website usually has the transcript and audio posted soon after the address is broadcast. Additionally, MP3 audio of the weekly addresses can be found at http://dnc.org/a/press/audio/radio_address/ and various news websites also post transcripts of each week’s Democratic response as well (for example, Fox News’ most recent such transcript is from last week and is posted at http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,250136,00.html ).

ABC Radio Networks has over 2,000 affiliates that carry its news broadcasts in their local markets. Not all the affiliates carry the weekly radio addresses, and not all of the networks’ programming is available for live streaming from its own websites. You might hear what you’re looking for via ABC News Radio’s streaming feed at http://abcradio.go.com/show?id=92 . However, many of the networks’ individual stations do provide live streaming audio over the web as well—try selecting one from the list at http://abcradio.go.com/channel?id=35 to see if it carries what you’re looking for. (The Washington, DC affiliate is at http://www.wmal.com/home.asp so that might be a good place to start.)

It’s unfortunate, and not a little surprising, that the Democratic response to the weekly White House radio address is so hard to locate on an ongoing basis. You’d certainly think that the national party organization would want to make sure as many people as possible could hear it as easily as possible each week, wouldn’t you?

Thanks.  I went to the DNC site and there was not mention of it.  I will check back a bit later.  tx.

Whoa.  That’s a whole lotta Kerry in three days.
Awesome.

I hope and expect he’ll use this opportunity to push for sponsorship of his upcoming legislation and setadeadline.

The current nonbinding resolutions do very little to push the administration toward a resolution in Iraq.  Setting a deadline, as Sen Kerry is proposing, and focusing on real diplomacy in the region is the best way to get us out of this disasterous and immoral war.

As Chris Dodd was quoted recently:
“The notion of sense-of-the-Senate resolutions, what the hell does that mean?”
Right on, Sen Dodd.  We need real solutions.

Go get ‘em, JK.

We need Kerry for 2008!

While I agree the war is of upmost importance, other issues greater than that are at stake,
and we need him in the White House to reverse this path of destruction the current adm has put us on.

John Kerry is a true leader.

John Kerry is one of the greatest, most tireless campaigners I’ve ever seen.  His determination always wins the day (barring massive misbehavior by voting officials!) as I believe it did in 2004 and know it did in 2006.

His refusal to leave a fight ‘til it’s won will make this campaign to set a deadline and bring our troops home a victory for democracy.  His understanding of the problems of the whole region and his championing of real solutions for peace in the Middle East will help restore American honor.

My thanks to him for his leadership and his boundless energy in service of what’s right.
