Ahem. I said this at the end of the previous thread, along with several other things; but I think it bears reposting here as well. (Maybe I’m just channeling Walt Whitman this morning. “Do I repeat myself? Very well then, I repeat myself.”)

... And special thanks are due to one professional politician in particular, of course, a certain senator from Massachusetts who worked harder than anyone else in Washington to bring new faces to the table this year.

He raised millions of dollars for individual candidates in the House as well as the Senate races; he spent countless hours campaigning for them in person; and he stood up strong and straight and tall while he kept right on speaking truth to power, serving as a lightning rod to draw the surges of current that galvanized so many millions of Democratic voters today.

We all know who that certain senator from Massachusetts is, of course. We all know the extent to which today’s shift in the American political landscape is the direct result of his tireless work over the last weeks and months and years. We all know the debt of gratitude that We the People owe him for his lifetime of public service, from the jungles of Vietnam to the swamps of Washington, D.C.

So thank you, Senator John Forbes Kerry. Thank you from the very bottoms of our proud, blue, happy hearts.

and now is when the *real* work starts,

I am a college student at a Southern college in Georgia. I know to my consternation that the South overall did not win key Democratic elections for the House nor the Senate, but John Kerry and others like him kept promoting the Democratic party and its political plaform in the South anyway. I hope the win for the Democratic Party win propel John Kerry as a front runner for the 2008 presidential election. I wish John Kerry good luck in the senate.

So now the real work begins. ANd what we need is Senators of John’s caliber (thinking how differently these last 2 years would have been had the GOPS not stolen (yes, stolen) the vote in Ohio is enough to make one weap) willing to provide leadership that amounts to more than our party being the “anything but Bush” alternative.
ANd please let us hear no more about Hillary as a candidate in ‘08!

Hello
Kerry did a great job in galvanizing people and funds and personally think he is a leading contender from the democrats. But who will be his VP running mate? Hope it is not Hillary? Too early for Obama? How about Rahm?

Thanks to Senator Kerry (and a great network) for helping us now have 3 Democratic congressmen from Iowa instead of just one. That’s over 50% for us! The world looks a little brighter today.

God bless America now and always AND May God bless the Democrats.  Democrats:  Help bring joy, peace, and love to the world because we need it.  On our winning day, may God give all winning Democrats the wisdom and strength to do all the right and good things that need to be done.

To John Kerry and Democrat Parties:

I have been looking forward to this day since 2000!!

I never wanted to see Bush in office.  Since before 9/11 ever happened, I knew the country would come tumbling down if Bush were in office.  Unfortunately, 9/11 happened and things are probably worse than I ever thought they would be.

I am hoping that with last night’s new election, the corruption will stop in the White House, the Iraq war will come to an end, that our borders remain secure, that we solve our immigration problem, and one thing that hits me home ALL THE TIME, our healthcare will finally be addressed.

I live in constant fear of having to go to the Dr’s/hospital/tests.  One day can nearly wipe you out.  Has anyone considered National, Universal, whatever you want to call it healthcare for the middle class citizens who break their backs everyday paying taxes into the system?  These are the people that this country needs to assure will continue to work or White House salaries couldn’t get paid or Welfare and S.S. couldn’t get paid.  Sometimes it feels that we are nothing more than disposable workhorses.

Congratulations to Kerry for all the letters and hard work you have put into the Democratic causse for the last 2 years.  It finally paid off.  Don’t stop, you are MY President, keep helping us please.

Sincerely,

Gladys Garcia

I cannot be more proud of all the work that Senator Kerry has done and the superb integrity that he has consistently demonstrated.  He has remained steadfast, focused and non-stop positive.  Senator Kerry is precisely one of the key reasons I can stand-up today and once again proclaim that I am proud to be an American.  Senator Kerry, thank you for staying true to the dream.

very suprised to see some of the names in the 260 candidates we supported…
was money really needed to go to Byrd in WV, Clinton in NY, freddie ferrer in NYC, Feinstein in CA,
I know I was always given the opportunity to direct my funds to specific races of my choosing, but I wonder whose funds went to these non-contests, practically un-opposed races.
It is this sort of strange spending, (i.e. government paid for mailings to constituents, that are obvious self-promotion garbage) that drives people away from giving to campaigns, and trusting either party to be disciplined in spending our nations money on useful needs and not self interest (i.e. staff, earmarks, self-promoting travel)
great job johnkerry.com and john
good luck to us (our party)
