Kerry and Lamont in Full Cry
Road Report from Ted Chiodo:
10-25-2006: With 13 days remaining, John Kerry met up with Ned Lamont in Connecticut to speak out against the war and the Republicans’ failed “stay-the-course policy.” It was a great day for people craving for real leadership and a change of direction. Kerry and Lamont were clear about what our policy in Iraq should be:
Kerry: “No American soldier should give his life because squabbling Iraqi politicians fail to get their act together and settle their differences “
Lamont: “It’s time we brought the troops home and had the Iraqis stand up for themselves.”
Ned Lamont is a brave voice who will stand with John Kerry to change the direction of this country.
There’s video on the way—we’‘ll post an update here when it’s ready. There’s also the Lamont blog’s youtube of the event in the JK blog roundup here.
UPDATE: Video of the Lamont rally is now available.

JK, as a CT resident, thank you for stepping up to the plate with Ned Lamont who I dearly hope is our next Democratic Senator.
I’m sorry I couldn’t be there to cheer you both on but I was there in spirit.
Ned shouldn’t be such a stretch for the fiscally minded CT. Reasonable, too, in wanting a change in our foreign policy.
What is so wonderful about having another neo-con on the middle east, obstructionist on everything else in Joe, that we must return him to do Cheney’s bidding.
He’s holding up the Dems, taking IOUs from the GOP, so I wonder which way he’ll vote, having promised both sides his loyalty.
Thank you, Senator, for going to bat for Ned.
John, your ideals are a guideline for all proud Americans to live by. It’s not about “cut and run”, it is about the fact that we have done all we can, and now it is time to leave.
This has nothing to do with whether one supported the war in the beginning or not, this has to do with our brothers and sisters dying for some other country’s problems.
You are a true American hero, and I hope to see you and support you in 2008.
Thank you for everything you have done for the American people.
Jane Hamsher, on firedog lake, aptly summarized Kerry’s contribution to Lamont’s campaign: Kerry is a “stand-up guy”, a “mensch”. Those are ideal words to summarize Sen. Kerry’s efforts not just for Lamont, but for the 2006 elections all around. Bravo, Sen. Kerry.
