Kerry campaign plans on two debates with opponent
BOSTON - Senator John Kerry's campaign announced today that his opponent's campaign has agreed to John Kerry's proposal of two hour-long debates - one television debate and one radio debate.
The televised debate will take place on New England Cable News and the radio debate will be hosted by WTKK radio's Jim Braude and Margery Eagan. Specific dates and details are still being finalized.
"Now more then ever, Massachusetts voters need to hear the differences between the two candidates. They they need to know how their Senator plans on dealing with the critical issues facing our state and our country - from the economy to skyrocketing prices of heating oil to global climate change, to bringing our troops home from Iraq and recommitting to Afghanistan, to ensuring that America is once again respected in the world," said Roger Lau, Kerry's Campaign Manager.
"Senator Kerry is looking forward to a dialogue on the issues that matter to all Massachusetts residents. He's worked hard in the Senate to secure funding for new veterans centers, wrote and passed legislation to provide millions in federal grants to communities struggling with foreclosures and helped obtain $100 million in fuel assistance so 95,000 seniors and working families could heat their homes. He's looking forward to talking about that record and the fights ahead," Lau continued.
